Qualifications for Jury Service -
The following persons shall be disqualified for jury service pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1865(b):
(1) |
A person who is not a citizen of the United States; |
(2) |
A person who is less than 18 years of age; |
(3) |
A person who has not resided in the Northern District of Alabama for a period of one year; |
(4) |
A person who is unable to read, write and understand the English language with a degree of proficiency sufficient to satisfactorily fill out the juror qualification questionnaire form; |
(5) |
A person who is unable to speak the English language; |
(6) |
A person who is incapable of rendering satisfactory jury service by reason of mental or physical infirmity; |
(7) |
A person who has a charge pending against him or her in a state or federal court of record for the commission of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year; |
(8) |
A person who has been convicted in a state or federal court of record of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year and his or her civil rights have not been restored. |
